To Grow: How to Develop and Market Your Own Personal Injury Practice

A personal injury practice is not for every chiropractic practitioner. To be successful at it you need to be well versed, totally prepared and very educated in this highly selective specialty.

It is definitely not for those who think it is an easy alternative to conventional chiropractic care or for those who suffer stage fright.

If you are in that select group of chiropractors who believe a patient who has suffered a personal injury deserves the best quality care, then this specialty may in fact be for you.

Establishing yourself as an expert in this field does require some skilled training plus a reasonable amount of preparation and follow-through.

It is not by accident that 85% of the personal injury patients go to 15% of the personal injury practitioners.

Basically, a chiropractor that expects to be successful in the personal injury arena understands that certain criteria and skills will be needed and even necessary.

You will have to be able to substantiate the injuries that have occurred. Your SOAP notes, that is Subjective findings, Objective findings, Assessment and Procedures must be well spelled out.

An in-depth history must include a long list of items that we outline in the free special report we have for you.

Your exam includes all of the necessary physical, chiropractic, orthopedic and neurological testing.

If you are somewhat remiss on your standard orthopedic and neurological tests, you need to brush up quickly.

In court, both the opposing doctor and his attorney will know these tests cold. While on the stand you may be asked to recite the significance of a specific test or tests such as the anatomy of the musculature involved.

There is so much more that we can’t include it all here. But we would like to offer you, absolutely free a copy of our 26-page special report “Developing and Marketing Your Personal Injury Practice” authored by Dr. Steven J. Goldstein. Dr. Goldstein has been in practice in Staten Island , NY since 1978 and is nationally recognized among his peers for his personal injury expertise.

Call 1-800-696-7788 , ext. 248 for a free copy of this most valuable special report.

What you will learn:

  • Is a PI practice for you?
  • A step by step guide on what to do
  • How to get referrals from attorneys
  • How to get referrals from MD’s
  • How to increase PI visits

Plus hundreds of valuable tips you will be able to start using today.

Marketing Idea of the Month #7: Produce an Audio Cassette and Offer it to Prospective Patients

Each month we will give you a proven marketing tip or program that, if done right, will work for you. Collect, read and use all 36 of them over the next three years and you will have put together an effective powerful marketing program to help grow your chiropractic practice.

Last issue’s idea: Staying in Touch...Forever

This month’s idea: Producing and audio cassette

A great way to generate leads, new patients and truly establish yourself as the expert in your community is to produce your own audio cassette or CD and offer it free to prospective as well as current and past patients.

How to be Pain Free Without Medication is but one of 100 titles you could use for this powerful marketing tool.

The Q&A format where you are interviewed in a series of questions is a format that is well received.

Of course, this audio cassette/CD needs to be well written and well produced.

It’s going to be your calling card. It’s going to be the first impression that prospective patients have of you so you need to put your best foot forward.

Get some professional help if you feel uncomfortable yourself.

(Ed. Note: At Metro Marketing we offer a whole series of audio materials for the chiropractic community. Where the material is not for the general public [you’ll have to write your own], the format and style are something you may want to take a close look at. Call today for free copies).

You have two objectives in distributing this material:

  • To establish yourself as an expert in the topic being discussed
  • To help you find new patients.

If properly and professionally done, reason #1 will take care of itself.

As for the 2nd reason, by offering the tape/CD free to members of the community via other advertising channels such as newspaper ads and press releases to name but two, the free offer will help you find prospective patients.

When a prospective patient calls for a copy of the CD, it will be mailed to him along with your offer for a free chiropractic exam.

The process repeats itself.

Offer valuable educational materials to the community. Make it easy for them to get. When they ‘raise their hand’ they obviously have an interest in the topic and you now have an excellent candidate for your services long before your competitors even know they exist.

Put them on your newsletter (you do produce a newsletter we hope?) and mailing list. Stay in touch and your patient base will grow with each passing week.

Want to discuss? Feel free to call me at 1-800-696-7788, ext. 112.

Letter of the Month: Mailed with the Cassette/CD

Each month we will give you a ready-to-use letter that can be used to help promote your practice.

A professional copywriter would charge you anywhere from $150 to $350 to write you a marketing letter, but as a subscriber to The Spinal Column you get it for free.
